Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what happens to the information you provide when you use IP Network Tools (the "Service"), operated by IP Network Tools. In short: there are no accounts, we do not keep a history of your lookups, and the only third-party script on the site is the one described under Analytics.
Who operates this site
IP Network Tools operates IP Network Tools at ipnetworktools.net. Contact for any privacy question: [email protected].
No accounts, no lookup history
Every tool works without signing up. We do not maintain a per-user history of your lookups. The "recently used" list on the homepage stores tool names only — never the domains, IPs or URLs you entered — in your browser's localStorage, and it is never transmitted to us.
What is processed to produce a result
- Your IP address. For "What Is My IP" and for rate limiting, your connection's IP is processed transiently in memory. "What Is My IP" responses are returned with
Cache-Control: no-storeso they are never stored in a shared cache. We do not write full IP addresses to analytics. - Domains, IPs and URLs you enter. These are sent to the service needed to answer the question — a public DNS-over-HTTPS resolver, an RDAP registry, or the web server you asked us to inspect — and are used for that one request. They are not stored, profiled, or sold. See Data Sources for the exact list of providers.
- Browser-side tools. Subnet and CIDR calculation, IP conversion and validation, Base64, timestamp conversion, URL parsing and hostname validation run entirely in your browser. Those inputs never reach our servers at all.
Analytics and advertising
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-YKK94S1DRT) to count page views and understand which tools are used. It is loaded on every page. We configure it as follows:
- Query strings are removed before measurement. Tool pages put your input in the URL (for example
?name=…) so links are shareable. The page address reported to Google Analytics is truncated to the path only, so the domains, IPs and URLs you look up are never sent to Google Analytics — not inpage_location, not inpage_referrer, and not in the page title. - IP anonymisation is on and Google Signals / ads personalisation features are disabled.
- Google Consent Mode v2 defaults to "denied" for analytics and advertising storage in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, so no analytics cookie is written for visitors in those regions unless and until consent is granted.
Cloudflare Web Analytics also runs on this site, injected by our hosting provider. It is cookieless and does not fingerprint visitors — it records aggregate page views and performance timings only. Cloudflare additionally processes your request as our infrastructure provider; see the Cloudflare privacy documentation for details.
You can block analytics entirely with any content blocker or by disabling JavaScript for third-party hosts. Every tool continues to work.
Advertising. No advertising script is loaded on this build of the site.
Cookies and local storage
The tools themselves need no cookies. Your theme choice and the recently-used tool list are kept in localStorage on your own device. See the Cookies page for the full inventory, including any cookie set by the analytics script described above.
Logs and retention
Our platform keeps short-lived operational request logs for abuse prevention and debugging. We do not add the contents of your lookups to those logs, and we do not build user profiles from them.
Your choices and rights
Because there are no accounts and no lookup history, there is very little personal data to access, correct or erase. You can clear browser-stored preferences at any time in your browser settings. If you are in a jurisdiction with statutory data rights (for example the GDPR or the CCPA) and want to exercise them in relation to this site, email [email protected] and we will respond.
Children
The Service is a technical utility and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
